Why Arjun Santhsosh

Arjun Santhosh is a field archaeologist focused on meticulous excavation and accessible storytelling. Between 2016 and 2019 he served across consecutive seasons in Gujarat, India, where he learned and applied methods for exposing structural features, recording stratigraphy, marking layers, and registering antiquities, with a special interest in pottery analysis and site formation processes.
As an Archaeological Supervisor, Arjun coordinated day-to-day trench operations, mentored junior diggers, and standardized documentation so discoveries could move smoothly from field to lab. His practice combines traditional field craft—trowel work, section drawing, and context sheets—with modern expectations for data quality, photography, and ethical handling of human remains and cultural materials.
Arjun is passionate about the human stories behind datasets: migration, trade, faith, and local craftsmanship. He continues to collaborate with scholars, students, and heritage organizations, contributing images and field notes to public-facing articles that help communities see their past with clarity and pride.
